CASCADIAN WORLDS

Kobuk

Pop: 80,000 - Star: Alpha Centauri A - Distance: 4.4 ly - Est: 2087

Kobuk is the first extrasolar planet colonized by humans. A rocky, lifeless planet with a breathable atmosphere, it is similar in many ways to Mars. Kobuk is a major mining and manufacturing hub for Cascadia, supplying many of its ships. A workforce of more than a quarter million robots supplements operations, leading inhabitants of Kobuk to fatalistically joke that when the robot uprising finally happens, they will be the first to go.

Moro

Pop: 50,000 - Star: 40 Eridani A - Distance: 16.5 ly - Est: 2099

Moro is the second extrasolar planet colonized by humans. It has a breathable atmosphere and is covered in moss and lichen-like vegetation. Its soil is rich in unicellular life and excellent for farming. It was intended to serve as Cascadia's new breadbasket until the discovery of the first true garden planet, Olympia, to which many of Moro's original colonists eventually emigrated. A robotic workforce of 100,000 continues to cultivate crops here.

Olympia

Pop: 2.3 million - Star: Zeta Tucanae - Distance: 28 ly - Est: 2118

Olympia is the first truly Earth-like planet to be discovered and settled by humanity. Early images of its lush and diverse ecosystem sent back via probe reinforced Cascadia's reputation for providing hope for humanity.

Nabesna

Pop: 200,000 - Star: Upsilon Andromedae A - Distance: 44 ly - Est: 2133

Around 99% of Nabesna's surface area is salt water. Nabesna's oceans are mostly warm and rich with animal life and vegetation. Most of the planet's landmass is found in a single dead supervolcano and islands surrounding it.

Lassen

Pop: 800,000 - Star: Alpha Fornacis - Distance: 46 ly - Est: 2146

Lassen is an Earth-sized moon of the gas giant Alpha Fornacis 3 aka Tiberius. On the rougher end of the garden world spectrum, much of Lassen's terrain resembles badlands, and its oceans are acidic and mostly dead. Nonetheless, Cascadia considered it rich enough in resources to settle.

FEADS WORLDS

Columbus

Pop: 400,000 - Star: Eta Cassiopeiae A - Distance: 19.4 ly - Est: 2110

Columbus is a rocky, desert-like planet with sparse water and vegetation along with some insect- and reptile-like animal life. It is chiefly noted for its very rich deposits of uranium, platinum, gold, and other valuable metallic elements. FEADS maintains a well-defended series of mining and manufacturing operations here, and the planet also serves as a major hub for trade and commerce.

Tyr

Pop: 1 million - Star: Gliese 86 - Distance: 35.2 ly - Est: 2130

Tyr is a mostly ice-covered planet except for a temperate band around its equator. Modest in resources compared with its neighboring colonies, it is nonetheless well-positioned to serve as a trading hub.

KERALA WORLD

Padma

Pop: 7 million - Star: Alpha Mensae - Distance: 33.1 ly - Est: 2126

Padma is another garden world, and the most populous of any colony. Its initial colony ships only carried a few tens of thousands of adults, but stored over 2.5 million frozen embryos which were brought to term on the planet in artificial wombs. The children were raised and educated with the help of a fleet of robotic caretakers. Padma has developed a reputation for its excellent scientific research and education facilities.

RUNIA WORLDS

Parrikar

Pop: 3.6 million - Star: 61 Ursae Majoris - Distance: 31.1 ly - Est: 2120

Parrikar is a slightly less verdant garden world than Olympia, but is nonetheless majestic in its own right. Olympia and Parrikar have joint defense treaties.

Gagarin

Pop: 60,000 - Star: Psi Serpentis A - Distance: 47.9 ly - Est: 2150

Gagarin is an inhospitable planet which RUNIA built a number of enclosed habitats on to stake a claim to the world's abundance of heavy metals and unusual crystal and mineral formations. Aside from its fabulous mineral wealth, the planet is rumored to be the site of secretive scientific research into psionics. The world is shielded by a heavy military presence.

SKC WORLDS

Toku Kaiyo

Pop: 200,000 - Star: Sigma Draconis - Distance: 18.8 ly - Est: 2107

Toky Kaiyo is a water world about twice the size of Earth, with a slightly larger orbit. It supports an amazing wealth of complex animal sea life. The Saterlee-Kurosawa Corporation maintains hundreds of habitats both in orbit around the planet and floating on its surface.

Capitoline

Pop: 750,000 - Star: 18 Scorpii - Distance: 45.1 ly - Est: 2143

Capitoline is a garden world with a diverse ecosystem. Of all the colonies, its star most resembles Earth's Sun.

Okami

Pop: 50,000 - Star: Nu Phoenicis - Distance: 49.3 ly - Est: 2155

Okami is the furthest and most recently settled colony planet. It has no animal life, but is densely covered in vegetation which shares some characteristics of Earth plants and some of Earth fungi.
